You’re a mage in need of expensive material components and have turned to using some shady get-rich-quick spells to transmute lead into gold. Use your ill-gotten gains to activate the rune for your next ritual before you attract the attention of thieves.

About

I'm new to game dev and this is my first time taking part in a game jam - I decided to dive in head first learning Godot!
I didn't finish the game to a playable state, but I had so much fun in the process and learnt a lot! 🥳🎉

Take a look at my game design document and take a peek at the plans I have for Gold in the Shadows. 👀

How to play

Click and drag to transmute lead into gold.
(It's a bit buggy but that's as far as I got learning Godot for the first time :D)

awww man, this looked really cool, wanted to play it, I know you'll make it happen as soon as you're allowed to edit the project again, you could make a temporary game page and put a working version on it now even though the game jam submission isn't, so you can get feedback, the most important thing for a developer to improve their game is to get as many people playing it as soon as possible to get feedback

thanks so much!! 🙌 I'm gonna work really hard on finishing it to a playable demo :D
I've got lots to learn

That is genuine dedication.  your GDD is full of detail about everything. I am sure if you keep working on it you will make a great game.

Thank you so much for the encouragement! 🙌 I'll learn some more and develop it further :D

The game looks fun and I’m really proud of you for, in less than half a month, with no prior experience, doing all this!

I love you GDD, it’s really nice and feels very complete!

Will you keep working on it? Or will you move on?

Thank youuuu! I intend to go and learn more about game dev and Godot first but I will definitely revisit this and make it into a properly playable demo :D

Can’t wait to see it working then :D
