Randomisers & word generators - Obsidian template

Well - that's why I made a template so you can easily make your own word generators, randomised lists, and roll tables.

It works in Obsidian (free, private, offline, more info below) which means you can also use it to randomly pick from any of the notes in your vault.

Requirements:

• Obsidian version 1.10.6 or later
• Make sure the default Bases core plugin is enabled

🔮 What's Obsidian?

(Edit: not sponsored, I genuinely trust this tool & find it really useful!)

Obsidian is a free, private, offline tool that lets you create and organise notes. I love how reliable and fast it is, the clean interface is intuitive, and you can customise it however you like (even with optional community plugins). I'm using it for my worldbuilding wiki and personal research notes! :D

The files are all plain text documents and folders that stay on your device, meaning they're in a future-proof format for any other tool you may want to use. Files are stored in your "vault" (which is just a folder) and you can choose to have multiple vaults for different purposes if you want to keep things separate.

You can choose to sync them across your devices, or even host them online as a website (either by your own means or by using their optional paid service as a convenience).

They just added a new database-like feature (called Bases) that lets you view, sort, and filter all of the files in your vault. If you're familiar with Notion, it's a bit like that (but *way* faster, offline, and private). This is what I used this to create these randomiser templates!
